System for Online Teaching of Mathematics

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and implement a web application for online teaching of mathematics. The system is primarily intended for students and teachers at secondary schools. The application is implemented in PHP and Javascript languages. The Symfony framework is chosen on the backend and the React framework was used for the frontend implementation.
Koncepce, podpora a zkušenosti z výuky matematiky na ČVUT FBMI ve studijním programu Biomedicínská technika

Příspěvek popisuje důvody, metody a výsledky nového systému výuky matematiky na ČVUT FBMI v rámci bakalářského studijního program Biomedicínská technika. Zavedení proběhlo v akademickém roce 2009/2010 a to z důvodu nízké motivace studentů pro stadium matematiky a vzhledem ke zhoršujícím se studijním výsledkům. Míra neúspěšnosti u zkoušek z matematiky klesla z původní úrovně 52 % v roce 2009 na 34 % v roce 2017 u matematiky 1. stupně. a poklesla z 21 % v roce 2009 na 14 % v roce 2017 u kurzů matematiky 2. úrovně. Metodika byla též implementována a testována na deseti vzdělávacích institucích v Řecku, Izraeli, Kosovu, Severní Makedonii a Uzbekistánu v rámci programu Erasmus+ zaměřeného na budování kapacit s názvem iTEM (Innovative Teaching Education in Mathematics).
The use of 3D printers in mathematics education

The aim of this thesis is to design, implement, and evaluate an educational model that integrates 3D printing into the teaching process, linking computer science and mathematics education with the goal of increasing student engagement and understanding. Furthermore, it explores the challenges associated with the use of 3D printing and 3D printers in mathematics teaching and subsequently proposes recommendations and creates materials that would allow the effective use of this technology in mathematics education. The collected data was analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The educational model was designed around the topic of stereometry and was implemented through an educational experiment involving 5 classes of a vocational high school. The conclusions drawn from the data analysis are consistent with theoretical assumptions about increased motivation and success of students when using 3D printers in education. A meeting was organized for teachers to share best practices on the topic of using 3D printing and 3D printers in mathematics teaching. This work deals with math as a subject and its popularity among students. The work includes the results of international surveys in the field of math, creative teaching methods and the design of mathematical games and projects that will make it easier for students to understand and master selected terms. The diploma thesis thus presents math in a playful form and can serve not only students of the second grade of primary schools and lower grammar schools, but also teachers of math.
Financial literacy and its inclusion in the curriculum of practical primary schools

The theoretical part of the diploma work defines intellectual disabilities, as well as the possibilities of counselling and educating of pupils with mental disabilities. Further, the thesis discusses education and re-education of pupils with diagnosed mental retardation. It outlines the inclusion of financial literacy into the curricular documents intended for pupils with a mental disability across educational areas with emphasis on mathematics. The thesis introduces materials and their parameters suitable for the inclusion of financial literacy at practical primary schools. The practical part covers experimental education of individual thematic topics of financial literacy at practical primary schools. The carried out initial diagnostics of pupils at a selected practical primary school focused on percentages, simple interest and a family budget. This diagnostics had a general character, as was also verified. Furthermore, the thesis presents a detailed record from own executed teaching with regard to four monitored pupils, including their casuistry. Beneficial utilisation of GeoGebra software in geometric constructions at the lower secondary level of basic school

Diplomová práce se zabývá využitím programu GeoGebra ve výuce ma- tematiky, konkrétně v tématu konstrukce trojúhelník·. Cílem práce bylo na- vrhnout přípravu na hodiny výuky konstrukce trojúhelník· s využitím pro- gramu GeoGebra a následně ověřit, zda využití softwaru dynamické geometrie mělo vliv na zvládnutí nového učiva. Teoretická část obsahuje použité pojmy z planimetrie. V dalších dvou kapitolách se čtenář seznámí s programem GeoGebra a GeoTest a některými výzkumy, které jsou zaměřené na použití program· dynamické geometrie ve výuce matematiky. Následuje kapitola se- znamující s úlohami, které jsou v experimentu využity, a popisuje přípravu jednotlivých hodin. Poslední část je věnovaná pr·běhu experimentu, srovnání výsledk· žák· pomocí test· s kontrolní třídou. Získaná data jsou zpracována na základě pozorování a test·. Výsledky pozorování a analýzy potvrzují, že GeoGebra je vhodným doplňkem výuky konstrukce trojúhelník·. 1
Web application: Basic knowledge of mathematics at secondary school

The presented work is intended to serve as a teaching material in particular for pupils of the first year of secondary school, focusing on the basic knowledge of mathematics. The first part of the thesis is devoted to an analysis of existing web page, which corresponds to the theme of the diploma thesis. The evaluation takes into account the expertise as well as the scope of use of interactive elements. In the next part, the created teaching material in a form of web page is presented. It deals with the subject matter of powers, roots, polynomials and rational expressions. In accordance with current trend, the emphasis is put on both visualisation of curriculum (charts, use of graphics) and interactivity. All exercises to practise involve solution, therefore users are allowed to gain immediate feedback and thus to study individually. Web page is free available.
Possibilities of using Wolfram Mathematica program in Mathematics Teaching

The aim of the thesis is analyzing of possibilities in application of program Wolfram Mathematica in education of Math. All analysed options are supported by applets created in investigated program. The text is focused on introduction of background of the program and web support including instructions and all prepared materials. The thesis mainly emphasizes on creation of demonstrations in program Wolfram Mathematica. Particular parts of the text are also focused on programs such as Wolfram Alpha, Wolfram Demonstration Project a Wolfram Problem Generator. 1
GeoGebra in mathematics education

The aim of this work is to introduce and assess the potential of using GeoGebra software on multiple levels of mathematical education process and to analyze the expectation of pupils and students using this program. A reader is introduced to GeoGebra program itself and to various researches and articles sharing this common topic - usage of dynamic geometry educational programs and GeoGebra in mathematical education. This work is supported by two field researches that were carried out at the second stage of an elementary school and by another reseach made with students of mathematical education at the Charles University, the Faculty of Education. Next part of this work presents and covers more possibilities of using this program in the educational process of the second stage of elementary schools, and it also shows various options the program offers not just for teaching of mathematics, but also for other fields.

Lenka Felcmanová ABSTRACT: The bachelor thesis deals with problems of mathematics education for pupils with specific learning disabilities in the second grade of primary school. Pupils with specific learning disabilities need special education support in mathematics lessons. Mathematics teachers should offer them this support. The level of mathematics education for pupils with specific learning disabilities is dependent on the level of knowledge, skills and the experiences of teachers and on the readiness of a school in dealing with pupils with specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part described problems like the deficits of partial functions, dyscalculia, and pupils with dyscalculia in mathematics lessons. It provides the needed academic foundation for the actual research. The field studies show the results of the qualitative methods of research of the readiness of mathematics teachers and schools in dealing with pupils with specific learning disabilities.
